Sankɔfa calls us to retrieve what was left behind, but retrieval alone is not the destination. Knowledge must be restored to living systems: the language we teach, the institutions we trust, the economies we build, the stories we preserve, and the responsibilities we pass to children.
That movement from memory to structure is at the center of the Abibitumi Conference + Abibifahodie Festival 2026, held December 12–13 at Abibitumi Headquarters in Akuapem Mampong, Ghana. The theme is Construction of Black Civilization.
With the proposal period complete, the next question is who will gather to receive, challenge, connect, and apply the work. A serious audience can turn a presentation into a curriculum, a workshop into a local practice, and a conversation into a lasting collaboration.
