Sankɔfa is strongest when memory travels between generations. Film gives elders a way to recognize what has been preserved or lost, while young people see that the camera can become an instrument of study, imagination, and responsibility.
The Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival 2026 begins October 16 in Accra. Build your own small delegation: invite an elder who carries a story and a young person who may one day film it.
Before the festival, let each person prepare one question for the other. What must never be forgotten? What should the next generation create? Carry those questions into the screenings and return home with a plan to record one story together.
